Members are encouraged to attend our AGM this year to hear about our activities, discover how we’ve been supporting the museums over the past 12 months, and help us to shape our future. The meeting will include an update from CIMS management on the High Street Museum redevelopment. Minutes of last year’s AGM and the Accounts will be available in advance on our website.
After the business part of the evening, we are delighted to be launching Emma Roodhouse’s new book Constable 250: A Cast of Characters. Published to celebrate the 250th anniversary of his birth, this is the story of a diverse cast of characters who formed a part of Constable’s wider milieu, from his enterprising mother, Ann Constable, to Ipswich fossil hunter Elizabeth Cobbold. Constable spent his early career fostering these local connections and being immersed in the landscapes of Suffolk and Essex. This richly illustrated book includes contributions from sculptor Sasha Constable, artist and curator Peter Harrap, collector John Day and Senior Curator of Prints & Drawings at the Fitzwilliam Museum Elenor Ling. Emma will be on hand to sign copies of her book that will be the best accompaniment to the three major Constable exhibitions at the Mansion in 2026.
Refreshments (wine and soft drinks) will be available.
