Annual General Meeting of the Friends and behind-the-scenes Museum tours

Venue  - High Street Museum

Behind-the-scenes Tour - 5.45pm

Cost   - AGM - Free (Members only)

  - Behind-the-scenes tour - £12 (Members only)

We are very excited to be holding our AGM this year in the main Gallery of the High Street Museum. Members are encouraged to attend to hear about our activities, discover how we’ve been supporting the museums over the past 12 months, and help us to shape our future. Minutes of last year’s AGM and the Accounts will be available in advance on our website (please note that we will not be printing hard copies).

After the business part of the evening, we are delighted to be launching Emma Roodhouse’s latest book: Constable 250: A Cast of Characters. This is the story of those who formed a part of Constable’s wider Suffolk milieu, from his enterprising mother, Ann Constable, to Ipswich fossil hunter, Elizabeth Cobbold. Richly illustrated, Emma includes contributions from sculptor Sasha Constable, artist and curator Peter Harrap, collector (and FoIM corporate member) John Day and Senior Curator of Prints & Drawings at the Fitzwilliam Museum, Elenor Ling.

The AGM is free, with no booking required. We are also offering some very special behind-the-scenes tours of the Museum at 5.45pm that day. These guided tours will cost £12 (with all monies going directly to fund the restoration) and will give you an opportunity to see all the spaces that will soon be transformed into the restored museum.

Booking for the tour is essential, please email us at contact@ foim.org.uk. See p27 of our Spring newsletter for payment details, and please add TOUR for reference. Please note - as spaces are limited there is no online booking for the tour.
